Lori J. Hogg, MS
"I grew up in a large family on a small farm just outside the village of Luxemburg, Wisconsin. Shades of Lake Wobegon. From early on, I was always fascinated by how we could all have so much in common, yet be so different, from our sorrows and struggles, to our joys and strengths."
Given this early environment, Lori grew
up believing in the interdependence of people
and the value of working to make a difference
in the lives of others. Forgoing initial plans to
become a teacher like two siblings before her,
Lori decided to study psychology and
community mental health.
Lori Hogg began her professional career
in 1977 as a psychotherapist at community
mental health centers in Illinois, and Carlisle.
She joined Franco Psychological Associates in
1988. Her clinical work as a psychologist has
emphasized individual therapy with adults,
as well as marital therapy. Her chief interests
include the treatment of anxiety, depression,
and interpersonal problems. In addition, she
is interested in bereavement counseling and
stress-management training.
To facilitate change, Lori uses primarily
cognitive-behavioral approaches. She sees
psychotherapy as a collaborative effort. Lori
strives to empower people by affirming and
nurturing their strengths and resources as
they work toward their goals.
When Franco Psychological Associates incorporated in 2004, Lori was pleased to assume part ownership, and the role of Business Manager.
Lori also serves her local community
through active involvement in her church, including committee work and teaching.
Other interests
include golfing, gardening, reading for enjoyment, and travel. She and her husband Steve live in Carlisle.
